Kolsai Lakes

The Kolsai Lakes, a series of three stunning alpine lakes, are located within the Kolsai Lakes National Park, just a short distance from Saty Village.

  • First Kolsai Lake (Lower Lake): This is the largest and most accessible of the three lakes. It is located at an altitude of 1,818 meters above sea level. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake, go fishing, or have a picnic.
  • Second Kolsai Lake (Middle Lake): This lake is reached via a 9 km hike from the first lake. The trail passes through lush forests and meadows, offering scenic views along the way. The lake sits at an altitude of 2,252 meters.
  • Third Kolsai Lake (Upper Lake): The most remote and highest of the three lakes, located at an altitude of 2,850 meters. It is accessible by a challenging hike from the second lake. This lake is less visited, providing a more secluded experience.

Charyn Canyon

Charyn Canyon, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Central Asia,” is a spectacular natural wonder located about 90 kilometers from Saty Village.

  • Valley of Castles: This is the most famous section of the canyon, known for its unique rock formations resembling castles. The hike through this part of the canyon takes approximately 2-3 hours.
  • Charyn River: Flowing through the canyon, the river is a popular spot for white-water rafting and fishing.
  • Eco Park: Located within the canyon, this park offers yurts and camping sites for visitors who wish to stay overnight.

Getting There
