Today our Almaty Expeditions team will take you on the best-planned Almaty Day Tour where you can enjoy the stunning Big Almaty Lake, visit Alma Arasan the mountain gorge and enjoy a beautiful view of Almaty’s evening from Kok Tobe Hill.

This tour combines outdoor activities, hiking, and city sightseeing.

Big Almaty Lake is located 35 km from Almaty city. After arriving at the car park we will go for a walk. Enjoy the beautiful Big Almaty Lake, which was formed as the result of earthquake. The Ile-Alatau mountains in the background make this lake even more picturesque. The lake is 2511 metres above sea level, 1.6 kilometres long, 1 kilometre wide and the deepest point can reach 40 metres. This is a very popular spot for visitors to the city.

After the Great Almaty Lake we take you to Alma Arasan, a mountain gorge famous for its hot thermal spring. The water is around 20-40 degrees. The best activities are a walk along the Bolshaya Almaty river and enjoying a hot spring.

In the evening we take a trip to Kok Tobe hill where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Almaty city. For dinner we recommend a traditional meal.

We will pick you up at your hotel and heading to the Big Almaty Lake. Here we go!

The Big Almaty Lake is truly one of the best attractions in Almaty and always on the must-see list. What’s more, the lake is close to the city, and compared to other attractions here, we don’t have to make a long drive. After arriving at the lake, we go for a walk and enjoy the stunning nature. Enjoy the snow covered Tien Shan mountains. The walk around the lake takes about 2 hours. The next stop is at Alma Arasan where you can enjoy the Bolshaya Almaty River and for an extra charge we can arrange a bath in the hot thermal water.

This is also a great place to enjoy the beautiful nature and take a walk along the river. Horse riding can also be one of the best activities.

The tour continues with a visit to Kok Tobe Hill. Here you can enjoy the great view and relax. You can also buy some souvenirs.

For dinner we take you to one of the best restaurants in town. If you haven’t tried traditional Kazakh food, now is the time to do so. You can also try traditional drinks such as kymys and shubat. These are fermented horse and camel milk.

At the end of our tour we will take you back to your hotel.

The packing list is based on the time of year. Please dress according to the weather forecast. Make sure your camera and mobile phone are fully charged. Please also bring a day pack with the following items: sunglasses, fresh water, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, hand sanitiser, toiletries. And please have some cash in case you want to go shopping or buy souvenirs.

This is a city tour, not a wilderness tour. There are plenty of places to go to the toilet. But please let your guide know in advance. Sometimes in traffic it can be difficult to find and stop for the toilet, so please make sure you go to the toilet before you get in the car. Thank you very much.

Cancelling the tour within more than 2 months, 50% of your deposit payment will be reinbussed

Cancelling the tour less than one month, the deposit payment will not be reinbussed
