ALMATY DAY TOUR

Panfilov park, Green Bazaar, and Kok Tobe Hill

Overview:

Almaty is one of the most important tourist destinations in Central Asia and for those visiting our beautiful city we offer an Almaty Day Tour where you can visit the main attractions of the city such as Panfilov Park, Green Bazaar and enjoy a panoramic view of the city from Kok Tobe Hill.

This tour is special because of its locations, experiencing the local cultures and symbols rather than visiting the tourist sites. All three locations are very important and famous attractions to the locals, historically part of the city and the people who live in this city. During the tour you will have the opportunity to take a walk in the city park and enjoy a number of monuments such as the “Monument of Glory”, the “Monument of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly”, the “Monument of Afghan Warriors” and of course the “28 Panfilov Heroes” who died defending Moscow during the Second World War. You can also enjoy historical sights such as the Ascension Cathedral, built in 1906, and the Kazakh Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, built in 1908. This is one of the city’s main parks, where locals come to enjoy their day off and just relax.

After the park, we take you to another historic site in the city. Enjoy one of the largest and most famous bazaars in Kazakhstan. The Green Bazaar also known as Kok Bazaar. At the market you will find a variety of local products such as fruit & vegetables, nomadic dairy products, kurt, talkan, fermented horse and camel milk, pickles and more. Let’s have a traditional lunch. Enjoy the taste of Kazakh dishes.

After the bazaar we go to Kok Tobe Hill.  This is a recreation area on the top of Kok Tobe Mountain. Take a cable car to the top of the hill where there are amusement park attractions, souvenir shops, restaurants and the bronze statue of The Beatles. Enjoy the panoramic views over the city of Almaty!
