We did a 6 day tour of the Almaty region and visited such amazing places as the Altyn Emel Desert, the Kosbastau Oasis, the Valley of Castles and the mysterious Kaindly Lake. The guide from Almaty Expeditions was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We stayed in a tourist guesthouse and tried traditional food and drinks, which were very tasty. Almaty is a very beautiful city and I would recommend the Almaty Expeditions team.

I participated Central Asia Tour with the Almaty Expeditions team. We started the trip in Tashkent and attended many workshops on mid-century architecture. Visiting the bazaar and tasting local food was amazing, just as I predicted. Uzbekistan is a country of cultures, colourful clothes and smiling people. The next country was Kyrgyzstan, where we stopped at Issyk-Kul, a clear lake at the foot of the Tien Shan mountains. The best experience in Kyrgyzstan, unlike anywhere else, is staying in decorated yurts, learning about the nomads and enjoying the emptiness. Our final destination was Almaty, which divides the Tien Shan mountains, and we had a great walk through the Kolsai Lakes National Park on the northern side of the Tien Shan. This is a great opportunity to visit the best of the three countries, in that order, and every day is full of new beautiful places and historical heritage.

I booked a 2-day trip to the Kolsai Lakes and Charyn Canyon with the Almaty Expedition team and I am more than pleased with the service and the organisers. I was picked up from my hotel and traveled for 2 days with a pleasant guide  Nurbek, who speaks excellent English and always joking, I liked it. The Kolsai lakes are very beautiful and definitely worth a visit.

I was able to Enjoy a great trip in such a beautiful country with the local travel company Almaty Expeditions. Almaty combines all the wonders of nature: deserts, lakes, archaeological sites, mountain lakes and canyons. In less than a week I was able to visit more than 10 attractions and I am very glad that I decided to visit this beautiful country. I highly recommend you to visit this country and try to spend more days there, maybe a couple of weeks.
